Thank God it’s Friday. As you, too, shout this to the heavens, lace your words with a proper soundtrack via The Wrap Up: Hip-Hop Wired’s Top 10 Songs Of The Week.
The last seven days’ releases were fairly impressive to be honest. Though few newcomers sit atop the pack of tracks we heard, the Internets received some worthy drops from some noteworthy MCs. New Orleans and New York City connected on one track based on Francis Ford Coppola’s classic film series. Another thorough tune came out of the OVO camp, but we’re sure it isn’t by who you think.
We’ll hold off on the clues, but you can find all of the aforementioned cuts and more in the gallery on the following pages. Let us know what you think about this week’s edition of The Wrap Up in the comments.

OB OBrien – “Steve Nash”
To be honest, this took us by surprise. OVO’s red-bearded funny guy has bars, people.
Imagine Dragons ft. Kendrick Lamar – “Radioactive (Remix)”
This is the CDQ of the track that shut the GRAMMYs down. That was after K. Dot was (cough) snubbed (cough).
Curren$y ft. Action Bronson – “Godfather 4”
Spitta and Bronsolino have a dope chemistry on this melodic tune. This is definitely that mafioso, smoking music.
Nipsey Hussle ft. K. Camp – “Between Us”
Neighborhood Nip delivered yet another potent release. This makes four weeks in a row.
Yasiin Gaye (Yasiin Bey x Marvin Gaye) – “Inner City Travellin’ Man”
This is smooth as butter. We suggest that you put your dancing shoes on and turn the volume up for this one.
Mobb Deep – “Taking You Off Here”
This track sounds like that classic M-O-B-B, and we are not in any way, shape, or form mad at that. How about you?
ScHoolboy Q – “Gangsta”
Yes, we’re fully aware that this is only a snippet. However, we can already tell that this will be an Oxymoron favorite.
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib ft. Earl Sweatshirt & Domo Genesis – “Robes”
So far, each track released from Gangsta Gibbs and Madlib’s forthcoming album, Piñata, have been ill. Needless to say that this also fit the bill.
Pharoahe Monch – “Bad MF”
The poetic Queens MC’s pen is still mightier than any sword in the land. Conceptually, he’s unf**kwittable.
Cam’ron & A-Trak – “Humphrey”
Killa Cam made any Dipset fan shed a few single tears when he and A-Trak released the first track from their upcoming Federal Reserve EP.
