This past week saw the return of G-Unit, all of whom reunited during 50 Cent’s set at Summer Jam 2014. Following suit is Capone-N-Noreaga, who recently announced their re-signing to Penalty, 17 years after their debut album The War Report.

Earlier in the year, we also got to see Dip Set join forces for A-Trak and Cam’ron’s “DipSh*ts” video, which set the Internet ablaze with rumors of a third album (because a single freebie is mere tidbits for a starving fan base).

We hope this trend we’re seeing of rap crews coming back together for the love of music is an enduring one. Long enough to see the groups we’ve listed release an album. High hopes, we know. But we’ll even settle for a song or two.

Dipset

Juelz Santana and Cam’ron teased us with a new video called “Dipsh*ts” but it just wasn’t enough.

Both Pusha and No Malice have expressed splitting ways (musically), though we still hope to see them craft something up as the Clipse we all know and love.

Long shot, but we had to. Pras, Wyclef and Lauryn Hill were sheer perfection, if only for a brief moment.

Q-Tip is still mad about the documentary… so we don’t think this will ever happen.

Reportedly in the works, but we’re still twiddling our thumbs.

One word: classic. Nas, AZ and Foxy Brown’s moment together was also fleeting.

By now, you should know about Chuck D’s gripe with the way urban radio is being run today. His now infamous backlash at Hot 97 has fueled numerous conversations surrounding Hip-Hop politics. So we thought he should contribute to today’s musical landscape by putting out an offering.

Child Rebel Soldier

A dream, really, to see Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and Pharrell together on a full-length project. They too were a rare (and fleeting) moment.

The Throne

The then unlikely pair produced and released the epic Watch The Throne album. We want Jay Z and Kanye to create a follow-up.

Black Star

Talib and Mos Def are always a treat together, but they’ve only released one album, Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star.
