Iron Mike get his away. Jamie Foxx will be portraying Mike Tyson in an upcoming, still untitled biopic about the former heavyweight boxing champion.
Variety reports that Foxx will be playing Tyson in the film which is being written by Terence Winter. Foxx’s manager, Rick Yorn, will be one of the movie’s producers.
Earlier this week, Tyson revealed that he had already been talking to Foxx about the possibility of the comedian turned Oscar winning actor portraying him on the big screen.
“Me and Jamie Foxx have been talking and he’s willing to take that role and portray me as Mike Tyson, doing my life story,” said Tyson. “I think he’s splendid because he’s really up to par. I think he would do a magnificent job.”
This is just the latest win for Tyson, who has an upcoming cartoon series on Adult Swim called Mike Tyson Mysteries that will premiere this fall.
