Michael Jackson was such a big fan of The Simpsons that he called up the show’s creators and eventually landed the role of Leon Kompowsky—a mentally ill, white man who thought he was Michael Jackson. Due to contractual obligations, Kompowsky’s voice was credited to John Jay Smith, and Kipp Lennon sang in place of Jackson on the 1991 episode “Stark Raving Dad.”
