Marvin Isely, bassist for the Isely Brothers passed away today at the age of 56. No cause of death has been found yet, but it is speculated that it may have been due to the bassists’ struggle with diabetes.
Isley joined the Isley Brothers band in the mid 70’s and played bass guitar on hit Isley Brothers songs such as “Fight the Power” and “Who’s That Lady.”
Isleys complications from diabetes caused him to leave the group in 1997. Both Isley and his wife were spokespeople for the American Diabetes Association.
