While Chris Rock is heralded as one of the best comics of our generation, he even admits he has yet to produce a classic movie. He discusses this and more with The Breakfast Club.
As he gears up for the release of his newest film Top Five, the former Saturday Night Live star has been more vocal than ever about race relations, fame and more.
Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God were aware of his ongoing commentary and got Chris to expand on his views which resulted in a very humorous but insightful interview.

1. DJ’s
His top 5 DJ’s of all time are DJ Jazzy Jeff, Red Alert, Kid Capri, Grandmaster Flash and the late great Jam Master Jay.
2. Jay Z & Kanye
Contrary to popular belief Kanye and Jay did not finance the movie as they came in later on to help with the music for the film.
3. Movies
While he was in the cult classic New Jack City, he admits he has yet to put out a classic movie on his own. Hopefully Top Five can be the one.
4. DJ Envy
Chris Rock had an encounter with DJ Envy. Envy coaches his daughter’s basketball team. Rock’s daughter was on the opposite team and felt Envy was running up the score even though they were winning by 40 points. He proceeded to call Envy a not so nice word.
5. Based on
Top Five isn’t about his life but more based on some his experiences of being a comedian.
6. Freestyles
A good portion of the movie was ad-libbed. He hired a bunch of great comedians so he let them improvise.
7. Tour
While nothing is booked yet he might go on tour next summer.
8. Obama
Chris actually thinks Obama has done a good job considering the circumstances he walked into after the Bush presidency.
9. Race
As he put it, Chris is dealing with things his father and grandfather dealt with in terms of discrimination. He does not think things will change for the better during this lifetime.
10. Hot
While he knows he is one of the best comics he admits that other talent like Hannibal Buress is much hotter right now due to his age and activity.
