Like any high profile job, NBA players are often the targets of someone looking to come up on cash or cashable assets.

Former NBA guard Steve Francis can attest, as he was attacked onstage by a man looking to snatch his chain. A rep claims that the jewelry remains in the three time All-Star’s possession. Over the years, some of his NBA peers haven’t been so lucky.

Hip-Hop Wired lists 10 NBA stars who’ve been victims of robbery. Hit the jump for more.

Antoine Walker

The good folks at Bleacher Report said it best:

Antoine Walker was robbed not just once, but twice during his NBA career.

The first incident was in 2000, when Walker was one of six people who were robbed at gunpoint. The thieves made off with $100,000 worth of jewelry, including Walker’s $55,000 watch, and $3,000 in cash.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, in 2007, Walker was duct-taped and held at gunpoint in his home during a robbery.

With the value of the stuff stolen from him, it’s no surprise Walker has financial issues.

Stephon Marbury

Marbury was ambushed in his Bentley by two men, one of whom snatched his $15oK chain. Also, Jay-Z rapped about it, so there’s that.

Stephen Jackson

Three men broke into Captain Jack’s home while he was in Texas for a basketball camp back in 2010. However, his wife was home and held at gunpoint while the residence was robbed.

Eddie Curry

Curry, along with his family, were robbed at gunpoint at his suburban Chicago home.

Earl Watson

Technically speaking, it was Watson’s California home that was robbed. He’d rented it out to an elderly couple.

Chris Childs

Childs is often mentioned during epic NBA fight discussions. Sorry Kobe Bryant. But here, we recall the time he was held up at gunpoint and had $30,000 worth of jewelry and cash taken from him outside of Diddy’s nightclub, Justin’s, in New York City.

Jayson Williams

Back in 2010, Williams’ South Carolina home was robbed of $150K worth of sports memorabilia, electronics and jewelry.

New York Post reported:

Among the stolen items were a pair of Tiger Woods’ shoes autographed by the sullied billionaire golfer, shorts signed by basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain, and a handwritten lyric sheet by rapper Tupac Shakur.

The burglar also scored four plasma-screen TVs and jewelry, including a diamond Breitling watch and a gold Rolex.

Roger Mason Jr.

Mason and his sister were victims of an armed robbery outside of a Miami restaurant back in 2010, during his tenure with the Heat.
