With seemingly no shortage of acting roles to choose from, T.I. has floated a few Instagram pictures to confirm an ATL sequel. The 2006 movie served as a breakout role for both Tip and Lauren London, while introducing a dozen or so endearing characters.
A lot has changed in the nearly 10 years since Rashad hung up his skates. Before fans are subjected to more waiting, we ask, Where is the ATL cast now? Let’s see who’s been making headlines since the movie debuted in 2006.

T.I. – “Rashad”
It seems Tip caught the acting bug after ATL. He’s had prime roles in American Gangster and Takers, and he’s gotten some TV shine on Boss and House Of Lies. Obviously, there’s T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle and T.I. has dropped four albums of varying quality since his breakout role. When he’s not doing all that, T.I. finds time to defend Iggy Azalea’s honor. He’s done two pretty sizeable prison stints since ATL, but it appears art is no longer imitating life for Tip.
Lauren London – “New New”
Three years after a breakout role in ATL, Lauren London became a mother. She and Lil Wayne are parents to Cameron Carter, and “New New” has taken roles on shows like The Game, 90210 and roles in movies such as Next Day Air and Baggage Claim.
Tasha Smith – “Gayle”
When she’s not starring in 972 different Tyler Perry movies, Smith is popping up in Couples Retreat and on Empire and Power too. She’s made headlines off the screen due to what appears to be a nasty divorce between from her ex-husband Keith Douglas. On the low, Smith might help you get your screen game up with her Tasha Smith Actor’s Workshop.
Big Boi – “Marcus”
It feels like a crime that we’ll probably get another ATL movie before we get an OutKast album, but at least we got 2014’s tour. On the acting side, Big Boi has done seemingly familiar roles in Idleidle, Who’s Your Caddy and The Cookout 2. But the music has remained top notch, with 2010’s Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty and 2012’s Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors proving Big Boi is still a beast in the booth. In his personal life, Big Boi dealt with a divorce and reconciled with Killer Mike. You can also catch him designing socks and trying to keep followers educated via his Twitter feed.
Mykelti Williamson – “Uncle George”
Williamson had a decorated acting resume before and after ATL. His lengthy list of credits after starring as Rashad’s grumpy uncle includes roles on CSI:NY, Rizzoli & Isles, Nashville, and Justified. Williamson will also be starring as B.B. King in the drama The Thrill Is On.
Evan Ross – “Ant”
Diana’s baby boy has gotten some big looks since his turn as the character Ant. Arguably his biggest credit to date has been as Messalla in The Hunger Games, but Ross has also popped up on HBO’s short-lived Luck and the now-defunct 90210 reboot. Off the screen, he and wife Ashlee Simpson are doing the family thing.
Keith David – “John Garnett”
As long as he still has a voice, Keith David will work in the industry as long as he wants too. The 1986 film Platoon made him a legend, and ATL was pretty much a blip on his exhaustive resume. David has been credits in projects as diverse as Psych, Sons Of Liberty, Community, and The Bible since playing the role of John Garrett.
Khadijah Haqq and Malika Haqq – “Veda and Starr”
If you’ve indulged in any Kardashian reality vehicle, then you probably recognize Malika Haqq as Khloe Kardashian’s BFF. Outside of the reality circuit, she’s appeared on Entourage and Las Vegas. Khadijah has followed suit but kept a smaller profile, presumably because she’s a wife and mother these days. Long live Vida and Starr though!
Jason Weaver – “Teddy”
J-Weave has been heavy in the straight to video market…can’t knock the hustle. In addition to doing some voice work on The LeBrons, Weaver’s most high profile look was as Curtis during a three-episode character arc on Let’s Stay Together.
Jackie Long – “Esquire”
Aside from Idlewild, Long has mostly taken roles in a bunch of movies you’ve never heard of (What’s The Deal?, Almost Home, Pastor Shirley). But the TV game has been good to “Esquire,” as he’s appeared on shows like Love That Girl, Let’s Stay Together, and Real Husbands Of Hollywood.
Buffie Carruth – “Big Booty Judy”
If you’re of the opinion that Buffie “The Body” Carruth was born to wear lycra while performing physically exerting activities, you’re in luck. “Big Booty Judy” is now a fitness promoter, and her healthy ways are still bringing the thirst buckets to the yard. She’s also written one of those tell-all books supposedly exposing the industry titled Vixen Icon, if you’re into that sort of thing.
Lonette McKee – “Priscilla Garnett”
Whether by choice or circumstance, big time roles have been surprisingly sparse for a veteran actress like McKee. Despite her turn as Malcolm X’s mother, Jesus Shuttlesworth’s mother, and Sister in Sparkle, her biggest post-ATL role has been as Maria Pitts on The Game.
Albert Daniels – “Brooklyn”
If you’re a Hip-Hop fan, you may know Daniels more commonly as Al Be Back. He got a co-writing credit on the track “Good Night” from the import version of Graduation. He also dropped Raphael De La Ghetto with 2DopeBoyz and workshopped the one-man play, Apartment 3B. If you copped Talib Kweli’s Gravitas album, then you heard him on “Art Imitates Life.”
