Back in 2005, Beyonce and the other DC members announced on stage in Barcelona that it was a wrap for the group. They also released an official statement confirming it was a done deal. The vegan diet news had nothing on this.
Dropping Her Dad As A Manager
In 2011, Beyonce no longer wanted Mathew Knowles in control of her career, so she chucked the deuces to him and released this statement.
“I’ve only parted ways with my father on a business level. He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”
Again, the vegan news didn’t compare.
Her Superbowl Performance
In 2012, Bey announced her own countdown to touchdown when she posted on her website that she would be the Superbowl’s halftime performer. See how this was newsworthy?
The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour

Blue Ivy’s Coming
After Beyonce finished performing “Love on Top” at the 2011 MTV VMAs, she opened her blazer and rubbed her stomach letting us know there was a little Hov on the way. Giving up meat just isn’t as shocking.
Blue Ivy Is Born
Although a lot of people had already received word that Beyonce had given birth, her and Jay Z released an official statement about it.
“We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012,” the couple said, confirming the news in a joint statement Monday. “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful – we are in heaven.”
On The Run Tour
Early last year, Yonce and her hubby Hov announced that they would be combining their greatness and going on tour together.
The Life Is But A Dream Documentary
Back in 2013, Beyonce announced a new HBO documentary that showed us more about her life and personal struggles. Now all we get is a meal plan?
New Music From Destiny’s Child
“I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny’s Child music in eight years!”, Bey posted to her site. A new album, Love Songs, was released in 2013 but it had mostly throwback songs on it. People were a little disappointed, but still not as pissed as they are about the vegan announcement.
The Surprise Album, Beyonce
Beyonce “stopped the world” when she finally dropped her new album in 2013 with no warning. She broke the news on Instagram with the caption, “Surprise!”. Now that was worth the headlines.
