Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke is getting behind Donald Trumps presidential bid because he thinks the real estate tycoon is extremely smart, and right on the money with his immigration views. The self-proclaimed “White Nationalist,”  gave Trump lots of praise during a radio interview last week.

“Trump is really — he’s really going all out,” Duke said. “He’s saying what no other Republicans have said, few conservatives say. And he’s also gone to the point where he says it’s not just illegal immigration, it’s legal immigration.”

Because he’s wholly committed to being a “racial realist,” Duke was all for Trump’s immigration plan. Duke, who ran for president in the late ‘80s, thinks it’s good that the presidential candidate is taking on topics others won’t. “I praise the fact that he’s come out on the immigration issue,” Duke noted. “I’m beginning to get the idea that he’s a good salesman. That he’s an entrepreneur and he has a good sense of what people want to hear what they want to buy.

“And I think he realizes that his path to popularity toward power in the Republican Party is talking about the immigration issue. And he has really said some incredibly great things recently. So whatever his motivation, I don’t give a damn. I really like the fact that he’s speaking out on this greatest immediate threat to the American people.”

Duke hasn’t decided if Trump is just selling another sideshow, like he’s done his entire career, or if he truly wants to be president. Nevertheless, he crowned Trump the “best of the lot” among the other Republican candidates, and say he “understands the real sentiment of America.”

Trump is all about feeding his ego, yet in a shocking twist, he refused Duke’s verbal endorsement. “I don’t need his endorsement; I certainly wouldn’t want his endorsement,” Trump said during an interview. “I don’t need anyone’s endorsement.”

To be clear, Duke says he hasn’t decided yet on officially endorsing Trump, and that the story got blown up by the “zionist media.”
