August Alsina isn’t crazy. He’s just a very popular fellow. With just one lowly album in the stores, the 23-year-old Def Jam superstar has managed to make headlines even when he doesn’t intend to. It’s a phenom he can’t explain but he plays the cards he was dealt because that’s his role in life.
Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God got the green light to pick that brain of his and the end result is one of the most telling interviews any artist has ever done on their show.
Check out the top nine things we learned from the latest August Alsina Breakfast Club interview in the gallery below.

The Incident
Young August caught a lot of flak for groping a female fan’s breasts after he brought her on stage last month. As fate would have it, she felt more upset for the treatment “the media”–social and journalistic–gave the R&B star opposed to having her funbags fondled. Go figure.
“I’m Just A Sickly Man I Have Accepted That”
The Louisiana native has been in and out of the hospital for sometime and he says the last time this past September, he couldn’t function out of the right side of his nostrils and doctors had to literally break his sinuses. Damn.
Breathe Again
However, the operation has afforded him to the ability to actually enjoy sleep and even improve on his vocal range. He also got his eyes fixed to eradicate a disease.
Authentic Mop Top
The new hairdo August is sporting is 100 percent his and when asked about its authenticity, a conversation about Fetty Wap’s golden locks sprung up. Oh.
Family Business Pt. 1
The above message was sent to August by a female cousin who felt some type of ways (as you can clearly see). Apparently August didn’t feel any type of way because he posted it. With her phone number.
Sharing The Wealth
Chris Brown actually tipped August’s hat to seeking professional help through the voice of a therapist.
This Thing Called Life
The upcoming sophomore album deals in the realm of depression, mental illness and “the bad sh*t.” See “Song Cry.”
Family Business Pt. 2
August’s own mother posted the above message onto her Instagram following The Breakfast Club interview and later deleted it. It likely stemmed from the quote “I don’t have no family. I’m my own family” or his allegations that his mom never checked on him following his many surgeries.
Suicidal Thoughts
Yet, August readily admits he still gets very, very low. He attributes the diagnosis to the time he spent with a girl for a full week and she broke it down to him that he actually employs multiple personalities.
