French Montana just dropped some good news for Max B fans out there. But, it may not be good news for Max B himself.

French Montana’s MC4 project finally dropped, but he made more noise by talking about a future project by his partner-in-crime Max B. French sent out a tweet saying that Max had access to recording equipment in his new jail cell and that new music was on the way.

“My brother Max B got a studio in the new jail,” he said. “Cokewave coming soon.”

Rappers recording and releasing music from jail isn’t new. Ask C-Murder and Gucci Mane. However, doing that is still very risky due to state prison contraband laws. Items such as cell phones and dried fruit are considered contraband in the New Jersey prison system Max is currently a part of. Surely, recording equipment is included in that. Unless, there is some new arrangement where recording studios are the new gym.

This kind of news could land Max in trouble. He was originally sentenced to 75 years in prison back in 2009 for his role in a 2006 armed robbery. This past September it was reported that Max took a plea deal that reduced his sentence to 20 years. French then revealed that Max could get out of jail as soon as 2019 if he keeps up the good behavior.

“What they’re saying is he can come home in as early as two years,” he said in an interview with Funkmaster Flex. “But if he f*ck it up, then he could do up to six.”

Whatever Max’s current situation is, let’s hope his urge to record doesn’t prevent him from getting free.
