BET is taking you to the inner workings of an HBCU with their latest original series The Quad.

From School Daze to Drumline to the Stomp The Yard franchise, we’ve got a chance to experience life on an HBCU campus on the big screen multiple times. But as far as television goes, we’ve only had two, A Different World and BET’s shortlived reality show College Hill. Now, BET is revisiting HBCU life with their new scripted drama The Quad.

Based at the fictional Georgia A&M University, the show looks to embody the entire HBCU experience. In the first trailer for the show we see common, real-life themes play out ranging from the school football team having a white quarterback to brutal hazing within the marching band. We also see the turmoil that brews when a new president, who did not attend an HBCU, is brought in to run the school. Looks interesting, watch for yourself below.

The Quad is set to hit the airwaves in January.
