The fallout from Chrisette Michele’s decision to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration continues as Spike Lee has decided against using Chrisette Michele’s “Black Girl Magic” cut on his upcoming Netflix series, She’s Gotta Have It.

The Do The Right Thing director took to his IG page and broke the news to his followers saying:

“Good Morning Folks I Wuz Sorry To Read That “Sistuh Girl” Is Singin’ At DT’s Inauguration (And To Use His Fav Word-SAD). I Wuz Thinkin’ ’bout Using Chrisette’s Song- BLACK GIRL MAGIC In My Netflix Series SHE’S GOTTA HAVE IT…. NOT ANYMORE. And Dat’s Da Truth, Ruth.”

We can’t say we blame Spike for his decision as Donald Trump has proven to not only have racist ideologies, but also misogynistic and xenophobic beliefs.

But you know, some people value money and exposure over principals. Get ready for rocky few years, people. You’re going to see a lot of peoples true colors come to light and it will not be pretty.
