Original Hot Boy and Cash Money‘s first solo star B.G. could be released from prison as soon as this year.

In an interview DJ Smallz, B.G.’s son T.Y. says that his father’s stay in prison could be coming to a close very soon. B.G. was sentenced to 14-years back in 2012 on gun charges and witness tampering. But now, T.Y. says that his federal sentence has been reduced.

“His time was shortened,” says T.Y. “He’s coming home like within probably this year. If not this year, next year for sure, but we shooting for this year, you feel me?”

Information on B.G. has been scarce since he went behind bars. T.Y. says this is because B.G. has been shuffled all around the country into different institutions, making it difficult for even him to stay in contact.

“When he was in Pennsylvania, that was like the worst jail,” T.Y. says. “Since he got out that motherf*cker everything’s been a lot better. During that time it was rough on him, but he’s doing good now.”

T.Y. is an artist signed to fellow New Orleans Hip-Hop figure Curren$y. B.G. was one of Cash Money‘s original stars thanks to his membership in the Hot Boys and his 1999 single “Bling, Bling.”
