The Flint water crisis has really been flying under the national radar as of late. Not because the problem’s been fixed but because of all the other atrocities that have been engulfing the United States thanks to the reality TV show host turned leader of the free world.

That fact hasn’t been lost on Bruno Mars who during his 24K Magic show in Auburn Hills, MI announced he was donating $1 million to aid the victims of the water crisis that’s been plaguing Flint since 2014.

“I’m very thankful to the Michigan audience for joining me in supporting this cause,” Mars said in a statement. “Ongoing challenges remain years later for Flint residents, and it’s important that we don’t forget our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster. As people, especially as Americans, we need to stand together to make sure something like this never happens in any community ever again.”

Though the city has made some progress in rectifying the problem in Flint, residents still can’t drink the water without the use of filters due to the high level of lead, copper and bacteria in the water.

So props to Bruno Mars for stepping up and helping those in dire need. Now if only more entertainers would follow suit.
