A Florida pastor and his congregation are still planning to burn Korans on the anniversary of 9/11 this Saturday.

Pastor Terry Jones of Dove World Outreach Center is moving forward with the radical plans despite numerous death threats and criticism.

The pastor, who know carries a gun for protection, told ABC’s Nightline that Jesus would approve of the message and join in.

“Jesus would not run around burning books, but I think he would burn this one.”

As previously reported, Jones and his estimated 50 church members declared their plans to burn Korans on Facebook in retaliation of Muslims who they believe are responsible for the terrorist attacks in America on September 11, 2001.

With the 9th anniversary of the attacks on the horizon, Pastor Jones says he and his followers are prepared for a fight and aren’t dismayed over the possibility of violence.

We are definitely prepared to do this,” he told Nightline. “We are definitely prepared to give our lives for this particular message.”

Jones is the author of the book “Islam Is The Devil” and also sells shirts and mugs with anti-Islamic messages.

Earlier this week General Petraeus, the top military official in Afghanistan, urged the church to reconsider saying that the book burning could put troops in danger.
