‘Dr. Death’ Jack Kevorkian Dies

Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the doctor that advocated assisted suicides, died Friday at the age of 83.

Often called ‘Dr. Death’, Kevorkian admitted to assisting in more than 100 deaths of terminally ill patients from 1990 to 1999.

Kevorkian died at about 2:30 a.m. at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak according to his close friend and attorney Mayer Morganroth.

Morganroth also confirmed that he’d been hospitalized since last month with pneumonia and kidney problems.

Kevorkian served eight years of a 10 to 25 year prison sentence for second-degree murder before being released in June 2007.

Before his release his lawyers told the judge he had hepatitis C, diabetes and other problems and that he would not assist in any more suicides if he was freed.
