Tupac Biopic

Hip-Hop biographical flicks have been proven to take a bit of time to get off the ground and into production but the infamous Tupac biopic has defied the odds and long moved into Detox territory.

Despite the box office success and casting jobs of Notorious and Straight Outta Compton, the world may still be a little while’s off from witnessing an official Tupac biopic.

While the much-talked about, always-delayed Tupac movie has yet to gain traction after more than a decade, one of the late music legend’s former producer is creeping his way into the picture with a film of his own.

Everybody wants in on the Tupac biopic and those that couldn’t get on board, are taking matters into their own hands.

While the hunt is still on for their leading Thug Life actor, the forthcoming biopic on the life, death and times in between Tupac Shakur’s life has gotten its rights licensed out by Open Road Films.

The studio behind much-delayed Tupac biopic has finally reached an agreement with John Singleton, who had dropped out of the film back in 2011 after terms for a deal couldn’t be met.

As you may or may not know, the long awaited Tupac Shakur biopic is set to begin shooting spring 2014, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. But there’s one problem: the leading actor role has yet to be cast.

Fans of legendary West Coast icon Tupac “2Pac” Shakur around the world certainly rejoiced at news that a biopic about the late rapper would be coming soon. After ongoing rumors and several false starts, the film finally secured the necessary financial backing and will begin shooting on location in Atlanta in 2014.
