Everyone is doing their part to help out the victims of Hurricane Sandy, including a friendly neighborhood weed seller.

While President Obama visited New York to take in the sites leftover by the storm, the unnamed  Brooklyn dealer is putting his money where his mouth is.

Speaking to the Huffington Post on the condition of anonymity the man said he turned over $700 to victims in Queens, N.Y. “Look, there are probably some people down there [in the Rockaways area of Queens] who want some marijuana—but that’s not going to clothe and feed them,” he explained. “So in order for me to help, I needed to turn what I do into something concrete that I could give them.

Claiming to have made $1,400 from pushing Mary Jane over two days, the dealer purchased 50 wool blankets for residents in the area who are still without power.“Yes, I made a little extra money for myself those two days,” he said. “But [my clients] are getting something they already get anyway. I was going to work regardless, and now I felt like I was doing it with purpose. I’m not doing what I do in order to get rich or create some super marijuana empire. I’m trying to help, and is my job.”

Can’t blame the guy for doing a good deed.
