Cops Busted for Smoking Trees at Police Event
At a police softball game in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sahyne Souza, 47, and Kevin Fujioka, 37, were arrested by their fellow officers for smoking marijuana.
Thousands of police offices from around the country were in attendance at the five-day sporting event, Nevada Police and FIre Games, when they two pot smoking police officers attempted to flee the scene.
According to Clark County authorities, officials noticed an illegally parked van at the Police Softball Tournament, and from it leaked the fumes of odiferous marijuana. When the police approached the vehicle, the van sped away.
Following a brief car chase, the suspects then attempted to flee on foot, to no avail. One suspect was resisting arrest and was pepper sprayed by the arresting officer.
Souze has been an officer for the Honolulu Police Deportment for 20 years and Fujioka has been serving in Pearl City for 13 years.
Both officers were booked in Clark County jail on possession charges and later released.
Tenari Maafala president of the State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers said both officers will likely be removed from their duties once the investigation is complete.
