Wyclef Jean To Release Memoir
Kanye and 50 made recent headlines with the announcement of their books hitting stores. Now following in their footsteps is Wyclef Jean.
Wyclef is the latest in Hip-Hop to lend his name and back story to a tell-all book. Clef is having his life story revealed in a memoir published by It Books. He'll team up with Anthony Bozza, the Rolling Stone editor who co-authored books for Eminem and Tommy Lee.
According to a press release, the memoir will detail his background growing up in the village of La Seur in Haiti eventually leading up to the move to Brooklyn that changed his life. Clef and Bozza will also tell the story of his “double life” as a preacher's son and rapper leading up to his role in founding the Fugees. The producer's enormous and selfless philanthropic efforts through his Yele Haiti foundation will be included as well.
Clef released a statement about the upcoming project saying,
“I am so happy to share my journey which took me from the hut to the projects to the mansion. I am just getting started and feel so excited about It Books publishing the early stories from my life."
A release date for the memoir is still unknown.
