Four Black Students Awarded Rhodes Scholarships
Four Black students have become recipients of one of the nation's most prestigious scholarships. This is the second year since 1994 that four Black students have been awarded Rhodes Scholarships. The honor will allow them to study at Oxford University, England's most elite and celebrated institution.
Two of the four winners are men, and two are women. They are Andre McCall from Truman State University, Ugwechi Amadi, an MIT senior, and two Harvard College undergraduates, Darryl Finkton and Jean Junior.
The four crème de la crème will begin their tenure at Oxford next fall with the 28 other recipients. The recipients were chosen by committees under the Rhodes Scholarship Trust in Vienna, Virginia.
Congratulations to them!
This is proof that there are still some positive news stories to report.
