3 U.S. Soldiers Arrested For Transporting 680 Pounds Of Weed

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

If Frank Lucas did it, why can't I. According to reports, three U.S. Army soldiers were arrested Tuesday after police pulled them over for speeding in a rental car. After the stop, Phoenix, Arizona police found 680 pounds in marijuana in the vehicle as well as $10,000 in cash.

And get this, they all had on their military uniforms and showed their military I.D.s. I guess being a veteran was no cause for police not to take a further look into what the soldiers were doing.

The three men, Dwayne Campell, Llewellyn Stamoulis and Romaine May were charged with suspicion of marijuana possession, drug transportation, money laundering and conspiracy. Stamoulis was also booked on a count of driving with a suspended license.

Talking about riding dirty. Something tells me they should have stuck with Uncle Sam because crime just ain't for them.

Wale Weighs In On "If Twitter Was Around When Tupac Was Alive?"

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

"You look at someone like Tupac who was born on the East Coast and started to revolt against the East Coast. How would the blogs and the Internet received that. With everybody today bent on exposing somebody, how would they have done that? How would The Smoking Guns of the world have perceived that?

Would that have let Pac be able to have built his empire? Somebody as outspoken as Pac, his Twitter could have been off the hook. It's a discussion… I personally think he would have responded."

Peep the clip as Wale goes in on a “What If Pac Was Alive” discussion and makes an interesting comment about Pac “writing some (more...)

HBCU Helps NASCAR Reach Younger Audience

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Students from Howard University have found themselves in the midst of a pitched competition designed to help NASCAR reach an entirely new fan base.

Entitled “NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion,” the contest is an underwhelming attempt for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing to reach an audience that has long eluded them, the young, “hip” crowd.

Five students were selected from the historically Black college to travel to Miami's South Beach to present their findings and pitch their ideas to NASCAR officials. Though the trip is sure to be nice, they will be competing against Coastal Carolina University and Notre Dame for the top prize, a chance to attend the final Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Clark Atlanta University, Central Michigan University, and Winston-Salem State, also competed in the contest, but were not selected as finalists.

Dennis Rodman Party's Too Hard For Germany; Gets Detained

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

Dennis Rodman is no stranger to controversy. The former NBA star is a legend in the league for his on-court skill but a deity of sorts in the media for his outlandish antics.

While competing in a “USA Legends of Basketball” exhibition game in the small town of Trier, Germany, the man that wore a wedding dress to his own wedding found himself unable to leave the country after throwing a party as neglecting to pay for it.

According to local prosecutor Jurgen Bauer, the hotel in which Rodman was staying agreed to pay for his overnight stay, but refused to pick up the alcohol tab for the night. Rodman and his guests consumed $5,100 in beverages at the shindig.

Local police stooped the b-ball great on the highway, pulling over his stretch limo and holding him within the country until the all of his debts were paid. Eventually all money owed was paid, as well as an extra $2,500, which was meant to dismiss any legal action that may result from the incident.

Pharmacists Say AIDS, Herpes, Alzheimer's Vaccines Are “On The Horizon”

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

In five years, there could be a vaccine to defeat AIDS, genital herpes, Alzheimer's, Malaria, and Tuberculosis among several other common illnesses such as urinary tract infections and grass allergies.

That suggestion directly contrasts the former truth of what was once a dying part of the pharmaceutical industry.

Investments in the drug industry have allowed to huge strides to be made in what is now seen as a “crucial path to growth,” a phrase that is uttered mainly because of the success stories behind the vaccines for pneumococcal disease and rotavirus, the two viral strains known to cause meningitis and cervical cancer.

Needless to say, the projected success of a successful vaccination against AIDS or Alzheimer's diseases is guaranteed to bring in billions, if not trillions, of dollars in revenue.

Technology is amazing is it not?

FBI Looking For “Geezer Bandit”

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

An obvious sign of the times, the FBI is looking for an old man that has been robbing banks in broad daylight.

Dubbed the “Geezer Bandit,” federal officials say that the senior citizen is responsible for robbing financial institutions in the San Diego area, recently hitting a Bank of America in the township of La Jolla.

Law enforcement officials believe that the man is in his 70's and has been robbing banks since August 28th, fleeing on foot after every heist, an incredible feet considering that he has been seen pulling an oxygen tank during several robberies.

There is a $16,000 reward for information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of this brave, old soul.

Authorities refuse to say how much he has stolen thus far.

Refusing To Bathe Gets 10-Year-Old Tasered

Thursday, November 19th, 2009

An unruly 10-year-old girl was involved in a shocking development after being tased for kicking an officer of the law in his nether region.

Ozark police were called to the little girl's home after her mother complained of not being able to get the minor to take a shower.

Vernon McDaniel, mayor of Ozark, Arkansas, wants the FBI or state police to look into the issue after begging to ask whether the girl needed to be tasered.

Luckily, or maybe not, the belligerent little bad ass was not hurt and is now residing at the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter in Ceil, Arkansas.

Currently, no action has been taken against the officer, with no word about a reprimand of any sort seemingly on the horizon for him.
