Game Talks Life After “R.E.D.”

Monday, November 30th, 2009

As anticipation begins a steady climb for the next album from rapper Game, R.E.D., he is already looking past the upcoming release with the following.

The journey for Jayceon Taylor has been quite a bumpy road in rap.  Emerging alongside 50 Cent and G-Unit to drop The Documentary and then being forcefully removed to wage war with his former rap buddies, Game has found a way to create his own identity, although there may be more than one personality inhabiting his mind.

With his upcoming release on February 16, things have come full circle as he has linked back up to once again become the doctor's advocate with Dr. Dre.

While recording with Pharrell in the studio, DubCNN was able to speak with the rapper and learn more about the next rumored album (more...)

Royce Da 5'9” Speaks on Future of Slaughterhouse

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Since appearing on Joe Budden's Halfway House, Slaughterhouse has continued to break barriers in terms of lyricism and has maintained their presence on the scene since their debut album back in July.

As the group has taken time out to deliver their solo releases, Royce Da 5'9” has dropped Street Hop and EPs have come from the likes of Budden and Crooked I with Joell Ortiz set to drop his project in February.

Even with the expectations in the solo projects, fans are still salivating and anticipating the next project from the group.  Any mention of a Slaughterhouse track dropping leaves fans rapidly searching as if they have become an audio crack.

Speaking on Sound Session, Royce spoke on the general focus now as the year comes to a close and where his mindset is in regards to the group.

“I'm focused on the group in terms of (more...)

Serena Williams Fined $82,500 For U.S. Open Rant

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Serena Williams' infamous U.S. Open rant where she cussed at a lineswoman is set to cost her a record amount of money. U.S. Open officials concluded that Serena violated the “major offense rule” for “aggravated behavior" and will have to pay $82,500.

Grand Slam administrator Bill Babcock told The Associated Press Monday that Serena Williams will pay the fine and could be suspended from the tournament if she has another “major offense” at any Grand Slam in the next two years.

Babcock also told the AP that Williams faces a “probationary period” at tennis' four major championships in 2010 and 2011. If she has another “major offense” at a Grand Slam tournament in that time, the fine would increase to $175,000 and she would be barred from the following U.S. Open.

I'm sure this recent fine is a small thing to a giant like Serena. She earned $350,000 at the semifinals before the incident which she added to the $6.5 million in prize money she earned this year. All together, her career prize money tops $28 million.

Damn....maybe I should take up tennis....

Raekwon Gives the Scoop On “Wu-Massacre”

Monday, November 30th, 2009

With a “group” compilation album, as well as, independent releases from Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, the Wu Tang Clan was all over the music scene for 2009.

Things continue to roll on for the three rappers, fortunately, as they have joined forces to bring Hip Hop The Wu-Massacre which was pushed from a December release to a release on February 9, 2010.

Recently Allah Mathematics dropped a leak in the form of “Meth Vs. Chef pt. 2” to give a taste of what's to be expected with the upcoming release.  Along with the music, 3 trailers were released to further build anticipation for what is about to come.

Still promoting Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…pt. 2 Raekwon was able to catch up with 57th Ave to speak on the eminent pushback of the album, but gave assurance that it was meant to play out that way.

“We wanted that pushed back, I fought (more...)

Somali Pirates Hijack U.S. Bound Oil Tanker

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Somali pirates seized an oil tanker en route to the United States early Sunday morning. The “Maran Centaurus “of Greece was hijacked about 800 miles off the coast of Somalia and could be carrying up to 300,000 tons of oil.

The pirates who often use guns and rocket propelled grenades in their attacks, are expected to ask for millions of dollars in ransom. No American citizens are believed to be on board. The 28-man crew consists of six Filipinos, nine Greeks, two Ukrainians and one Romanian.

A similar situation happened around this time last year when pirates hijacked the “Saudi Superstar” tanker only relinquishing the vessel and crew after a $3 million exchange.

And you thought pirates weren't real? Please…..smh… This is what happens when you leave the poor with no chance of an economic come up.

50 Cent Threatens to Hire Shooters on Rick Ross

Monday, November 30th, 2009

As Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson lets the gas tank leak and adds fuel to the fire with Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z, the rapper also has to fight his own battles as his issues with Rick Ross and Triple Cs are far from being a memory.

Recently, Rick Ross spoke on the sales of 50 Cent's latest offering, Before I Self Destruct, which sold close to 160,000 copies in its first week.   After viewing what appear to be disappointing numbers for an artist with such a caliber as 50, Ross proclaimed that he was able to bury the G-Unit general.

Never willing to let any punch slip through, Jackson revealed news through an interview with DJ Whoo Kid about how Ross tried to take a play from his book when he contacted Tia and tried to find a means to get at 50's baby's mother.

“They actually, indirectly, tried to contact my son's mom.  They would have only shown up somewhere (more...)
