Columbia Professor Caught Assaulting Co-Worker

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Lionel McIntyre, an esteemed professor of architecture at Columbia University, was arrested for punching a female co-worker in the face while the two lounged at a Harlem after hours locale.

Professor McIntyre, known as "Mac" to others, was engaged in a heated debate about "white privilege" with Davis, a white woman, and another male faculty member when the situation came to a head.

"The punch was so loud, the kitchen workers in the back heard it over all the noise," said Richie Velez, who witnessed the incident. "I was on my way over when he punched Camille and she fell on top of me."

Servers at Toast, located on Broadway and 125th Street, have said that this is not the first time the professor became too rambunctious, with an instance of rowdiness having occurred not more than a couple of weeks ago.

McIntyre was released without bail during his arraignment proceeding a few nights ago.

Davis suffered a bruised ego and black eye as a result of the sucker punch.

Teen Beats Robbery Rap Thanks To Facebook

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Robbery was the case that they gave Rodney Bradford and “where's my pancakes” is the phrase that saved him after members of New York's Finest arrested the young man for participating in a burglary that he claimed to have not participated in.

Detectives apprehended Bradford, 19, after they suspected that he was involved in a robbery that had taken place a couple of days beforehand. Seemingly trapped in a tangled web woven by legal woes, the level headed teen delivered an iron clad alibi attesting to his whereabouts during the crime: he was on Facebook.

NYPD arrested the young man after authorities believed that he had been involved in the mugging of Rolando Perez-Lorenzo and Jeremy Dunklebarger, a crime that took place at 11:50 a.m.

A status update made on October 17th at 11:49 a.m. confirmed Bradford's statement, and in the process, set a legal precedent.

“This is the first case that I'm aware of in which a Facebook update has been used as alibi evidence,” remarked John Browning, member of the Dallas Bar Association and student of the ever expanding relationship between social networking sites and the law.

Still all is not peachy in Bradford's word, as he has yet to face the music for another burglary charge, this one still pending; just another day in the life of the young man known as the "Facebook Kid.”

Cops Caught On Tape Punching Man In Convenience Store

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Officer John McCalister has found himself under investigation by Oakwood after video surfaced of the off-duty officer assaulting a seemingly innocent man while both were inside a local Rite Aid.

The incident started as nothing more than a verbal altercation but quickly spiraled out of control after fists started flying. Even more disturbing, Officer McCalister is said to have had his wife and fellow police shield, wielding comrade, Tiffany McCalister to “go to the car and get the phone and get the gun,” alluding that he was about to get 48-year old Paul Watts.

Watts' response:

I'll still kick your a*s anyway.”

Footage of the incident shows McCalister viciously punching Watts on two separate occasions, with the latter gentleman opting to not return the blows.

McCalister faces misdemeanor assault charges for instigating the entire ordeal, while his victim has not been charged. Mrs. McCalister escaped being formally charged as well, but she has been placed on administrative leave.

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

The mixtape circuit has been able to evolve in the progressing years of Hip-Hop where it has almost become essential for an artist to drop one before ever thinking of dropping an official album.

Think of it as being an audition for rappers to the fans to show and prove that they have what it takes to be part of the team.  With such a heavy flood, however, it's hard for an artist to stand out from the rest which means they must find a means to stand out from the rest.  In this case, being different does pay off.

Now backed by Jay-Z, J. Cole had to set his own foundation entering the game and no better a way than to audition with a (more...)
