Baltimore City police officials are continuing to investigate the shooting of a 32-year-old unarmed Marine, Tyrone Brown, after he was fatally shot by an off-duty police officer, outside a nightclub early Saturday.

According to Baltimore City police, 36-year-old police officer Gahji Tshamba fired 13 rounds hitting him with six bullets. Brown, a 32-year old Marine who has served duty in Iraq, died after the shots. The shooting was told to have started because of an altercation when Brown made an unwanted approach at a woman.

However, this is not the first time that officer Anthony Guglielmi Tshamba was caught shooting , the officer had reportedly shot a man in the foot after a confrontation while off duty in 2005. Tshamba was disciplined at the time because it was discovered he was under the influence of alcohol.

Police are now investigating if alcohol was involved in this case after officer Tshamba refused to take a breathalyzer test.

Brown’s sister says that office Tshamba is simply making an excuse, and Brown did not ever make any kind of physical approach at a woman.

“There was absolutely no physical contact,” she said. “The supposed officer was not in any harm whatsoever. He (Brown) had his hands up to show he didn’t have no weapons or anything.”
