The Tiger Woods Foundation is announcing plans to open learning centers in the nation’s capital after a three year search for a location.
The foundation will open campuses for the Tiger Woods learning centers at two D.C. charter schools this fall.
The learning centers will be at two branches of the Cesar Chavez Public Schools where The Washington Post reports that fifth grade through high school students can take classes ranging from forensic science to graphic design.
Golf is not an anticipated part of the curriculum.
Woods has released a statement on his new learning centers saying,
“I’m excited we are moving forward on this initiative in the Washington, D.C. community. The two campuses will bring the best of our curriculum to some very deserving kids. A lot of people have helped to make this happen, and I’m very grateful for their support.”
Construction on the new learning centers is expected to be finished in October.
