Virginia bred producer Pharell Williams has filed a lawsuit against the parent clothing company for his ‘Ice Cream’ clothing line, Gilmar Group.

In the lawsuit, the producer claims that the Gilmar group has blocked the trademark application for his clothing line, not allowing the hit maker to produce pieces for his collection.

Gilmar Group states that the block is due to Pharrell’s brand being similar to their own and that they do not want to “confuse” consumers.

Lawyers for the producer counter-claimed stating that the word “Cream” – which means money – “creates a vastly different sound, appearance, meaning and overall commercial impression.”

Pharrell Williams launched the popular Ice Cream collection in 2004, along with his other brand, Billionaire Boys Club, which helped him rake in over  $13 million dollars allowing his to make the now infamous Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings List.
