Legendary Hip-Hop artist LL Cool J embarrassed himself during a night at the theatre recently when he jumped on stage to stop a prop from falling.

The rapper/actor was in the audience for James Whitmore, Jr.’s “Better Days,” when he pulled an “NCIS” move and leapt into action to protect one of the stars. However, LL wasn’t quite the hero he planned to be when he realized that the falling prop was actually part of the show.

LL spoke about the embarrassing incident and why he decided to run on stage.

“They had this scene at the end of the play where the wall is coming down and the shelf turns into this heavenly thing. I thought the bookshelf was really falling,” he said. “I jumped up… and ran on the stage real crazy… and then I realized it wasn’t falling. It was transforming. It was part of the play.  The girl onstage, the actress, was, like, kneeling down in front of me, and she was just looking at me like, ‘You’re ruining my performance… I never felt so crazy in my life… You can’t be cool all the time.”

LL who was recently announced to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, may have feeling himself a little too much.
