Michael Vick Subject of Bet Between Oprah Winfrey, Piers Morgan
Last night, (January 17th) British journalist Piers Morgan took over Larry King's slot on CNN debuting his own show, Piers Morgan Tonight.
The New York Times and Daily News criticized him for not only praising his first guest, Oprah Winfrey too much but for even selecting someone that America knows quite well.
Despite the hate, the two journalists are now competing against each other to win Michael Vick.
Fellow CNN correspondent Wolf Blitzer talks to Morgan on The Situation Room about his wager with Winfrey to see who lands an interview with Michael Vick first.
This clip shows Piers posing a question about the football star as Oprah declines to answer because she has an interview in the works with Vick. When she admits that she knows Piers is planning one himself, he suggests a friendly bet that begins at 100 British pounds. The billionaire mogul ups the ante to 200 pounds, roughly $200, and the war begins.
Both journalists are in the running to tackle talk time with Vick, but Piers revealed to Blitzer that Barbara Walters has also entered the race.
What a turn around for the ex-con who was literally in the doghouse with the media years ago after a conviction for funding canine fights landed him in prison.
