Mobb Deep Readying Next Album

Newly reunited rap group Mobb Deep is working on their first album in nearly five years.

Since group member Prodigy was released from prison in March, after serving three years, the Queens duo finally have an opportunity to work on new material, and they aren’t wasting any time.

In a recent interview with Allhiphop.com said, “We working on it, me and Hav in the studio everyday going hard. We are not going to put nothing out there that is not crazy, because right now it is not a game, you know what I mean? We understand the importance of putting something that is going to stand the test of time right now.”

Aside from the Mobb album, Havoc also spoke on his recent production work, “I did that thing for Eminem and he won the Grammy and all, so you know I got the Grammy on the mantle. Got a new one on the new project he [Eminem] is doing with Royce Da 5’9. I just did something for Ludacris. And you know I am going to be hitting 50 [Cent] off because he is coming out with a new joint.”

Prodigy has been in constant news stories since his release from prison, as his new book “My Infamous Life” has been the center of daily headlines the past few weeks.

A release date for the upcoming Mobb Deep album has not been announced, but is expected later this year.
