Virginia Tech On Lockdown
Authorities have put Virginia Tech on lockdown after reports of an armed gunman spotted on campus.
ABC News reports that three teens attending an on campus summer camp reported seeing a man holding what's believed to be a handgun shielded under a cloth around 9:09 a.m.
Virgnia Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum gave a statement on the incident saying,
"The juveniles were interviewed...officers confirming that there information is credible and at that point we decided to issue the alert. We have not had any further reported sightings. We have not had any reports of anyone suspicious or anyone that fits this description."
Police are looking for a man described as 6-feet tall, having light brown hair wearing a blue and white striped shirt, gray shorts and brown sandals.
He did not have facial hair or glasses.
Virginia Tech was the site of the worst campus shooting in U.S. history back in 2007.
