As MTV gears up to air their seventh installment of the ‘Hottest MC’s In The Game‘ on Feb. 19th, they unveil Wale as the tenth artist on the list. Last year, the Maybach Music MC released his sophomore album Ambition and appeared on the Self Made Vol. 1 compilation album as well. In addition to the aforementioned, he’s appeared on other MMG projects such as Meek‘s Dream Chasers Vol. 1, Rozay‘s Ashes to Ashes, as well as his own mixtape The Eleven One Eleven Theory.

The argument wasn’t if Wale should be on the list, but where he’d be positioned. While tenth isn’t a bad spot for the D.C. spitter, his placing seemed to move both T.I. and J.Cole off of the list. The list seems to be comprised of an artists’ catalog for the 2011 calendar year, and with respects to the criteria, it’s understandable that T.I. would miss the cut. However, given J.Cole’s accomplishments in 2011 with “Workout” reaching Platinum status and Cole World: The Sideline Story achieving Gold success, it’s hard to deny his placement on the list. We’ll have to wait and see if the panel changes its mind and grants Cole admission within the list of ten.

The show premieres Feb. 19th and it looks to be a controversial program that will have everyone talking.
