As we all (should) know J. Dilla included the song “Crushin'” on his Mummy Records released Ruff Draft EP in 2003. What we didn’t know was the original version of “Crushin'” was actually produced by Waajeed (aka Bling47) and the beat was originally intended to be used for the late Jay Dee’s still shelved MCA album Pay Jay.

Waajeed had assumed the beat went unused since Dilla never mentoined it or got back to him about it. It wasn’t until Waajeed and Houseshoes chilled with The Funky President himself J. Rocc (Beat Junkies) that he discovered Dilla recorded the original version of “Crushin'” to said instrumental. If you’re not checking for Waajeed’s  http://bling47.com/, then these are the kind of gems you’re missing out on.

Don’t sleep, and rest in eternal peace J Dilla.
