Black Mafia Family (BMF) Movie Is Officially In The Works
The story of the infamous Black Mafia Family (BMF) is definitely worthy of a movie, which is exactly what's going down. Bossip reports that Program Pictures and Morgan Creek Productions will be producing a feature film about the notorious drug, crime and music empire run by Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory. Acclaimed video director Benny Boom is currently in talks to direct the currently untitled film.
There have been a number documentaries about BMF but this will be the first feature film that tackles the story of the growth of the drug empire that started in Detroit before expanding to California, Georgia and plenty of places in between. The crew was so emboldened by their success that they even put up a billboard in Atlanta.
The BMF film will be produced by LT Hutton's Program Pictures and David C. Robinson's Morgan Creek Productions and executive produced by Tammy Cowins. Coincidentally, Hutton and Robinson are producing the forthcoming Tupac biopic.
Both Flenory brothers are currently serving 30 year federal prison sentences for drug trafficking.
