Enigmatic and talented, Blu has mystified fans since dropping the 2007’s Below The Heavens with producer Exile. Considered a classic LP, Blu has attempted to dodge being boxed into that record’s sound and has been on a creative tear since. Although his hard work and hustle landed him a deal with Warner Bros., he ended ties with the record label last October. The infamously elusive Blu sat down with Potholes In My Blog and revealed tidbits about his career and music aims, including work with buzzing R&B crooner Miguel.

Challenged on the idea of what he presents as an artist, Blu was candid about his work. “I think I am the biggest hypocrite since 2Pac,” he said. “It’s not a personal characteristic to be a hypocrite, it’s just I am guilty of certain circumstances like growth.”

Blu has toiled in the underground with some of today’s currently buzzing acts, including former label mates Aloe Blacc and rising R&B star Miguel. Blu said that he and his former high school friend have plans to collaborate once their busy schedules relax a bit.

“Miguel. We’re supposed to work as soon as he gets back in town but I think when he gets back, I’ll be in Europe and I’ll gone for another month in Asia. Hopefully, if we hook up in December, if schedules permit, we’ll get up,” shared Blu. The “A Man” rapper  is also working on an upcoming project with producer Bombay, and tells quite a humorous tale on how he came to work with his latest collaborator.
