Supreme comes through with another dope collaboration, this time with OG Memphis record label Stax. The streetwear brand the legendary Soul music destination have a created a line of tees for the 2012 Fall Winter season that feature images of the late Isaac Hayes and Otis Redding as well as the record label’s iconic logo.
Stax imprint on Hip-Hop is profound, from the Notorious B.I.G.’s “The Warning” (which samples Isaac Hayes’ version of “Walk On By”) to Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” (which sample’s Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness”). The tee featuring Isaac Hayes is particularly fresh since it features the gatefold artwork originally found on his Black Moses album.
Overall their are three t-shirts in collection with the other two featuring an image of Otis Redding and the Stax finger snapping logo. The tees will be available at Supreme’s brick and mortar outposts in L.A., NYC and London on November 1st. Japan’s locale will have them November 3rd.
