Man Executed In NYC Was Gunned Down Over Missing Mexican Coke
Brandon Lincoln Woodard, an LA native and allegedly an aspiring rapper, was gunned down execution style in broad daylight in NYC earlier this month. More details are coming in surrounding the circumstances of his death and Woodard was allegedly killed over a drug deal gone wrong that involves Mexican coke and a Queens crew with ties to drug trafficking in Jamaica.
DNAInfo reports that law enforcement official believe Woodard was murdered by a Queens drug crew that was tired of waiting for hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Mexican coke they paid for, but had yet to receive.
Sources said the federal Drug Enforcement Administration has joined the probe, considering the bicoastal aspects of the slaying, and its ties to other violence and murders.
“It is really not a homicide investigation,” one source said. “It has become a major narcotics case involving a big operation and substantial money, perhaps millions of dollars.”
The DEA is providing intelligence and resources to the NYPD about drug trafficking here and on the West Coast, and into possible connection reaching to drug distributors out of the nation of Jamaica, sources said.
Meanwhile, sources told “On the Inside” the NYPD is getting closer to identifying the cold-blooded killer who calmly pumped a bullet from a .9mm handgun into the back of Woodard’s head as he was lured to his death last week.
At the time of his death, Woodard was carrying three cell phones. One of those phones was tied to a Brooklyn club promoter who knew three men who were assassinated back in July 2012. These three men, who were found carrying guns, were lured to a schoolyard were they were all killed under a hail of AK-47 gunfire.
Speaking on Woodard, one source told authorities, “The Los Angeles guys thought they were tough, and could f— with the boys from New York.” He added, “They screwed with the wrong people.”
Although authorities have prime suspects (the shooter and the getaway driver) in Woodard’s killing, they have yet to arrest anyone as they try to make their case air tight.
