Kind of like Bow Wow for BET and 106 & Park, Ashanti’s new gig for FUSE has her hosting FUSE News. Yesterday she interviewed 2 Chainz for the television show.

In this interview Ashanti talks to 2 Chainz about the well known rise fall and resurrection of Tity Boi to 2 Chainz that has been told many times before. The two talk about 2 Chainz’s humble beginning as a part of Playaz Circle to his success on Codeine Cowboy and T.R.U. Religion to the success of Based On A T.R.U. Story.

“I feel like to me, it took my whole life to make this album. You know I’ve been recording for ten years so you know, it’s not like I would use a song that old but its about the growing process,” 2 Chainz told the former Murder Inc. artist. 2 Chainz also spoke about working with Kanye West and making “Birthday Song.

“I was just running through these joints and the song I envisioned him being on, we probably listened to the song for about an hour, and he just keeps on freestyling. So I looked at him like ‘why don’t you just go in the damn booth?’ But at the same time I want to keep playing more stuff for him. Then I play ‘all I want for my birthday is a big booty..’ and he goes ‘whoa I want to do that.’ I’m like, ‘you do?” Tity said surprisingly.

“We try to combine worlds, he thinks of the guy in the middle of SummerJam and I’m thinking of the little dread head dudes in my show that have been drinking too much,” he concluded.
