White Privilege: 10 Things We Learned From Love & Hip Hop New York

NEWS

So last night's episode of Love & Hip Hop New York started off kind of slow, but got very awkward by the show's end. There are three words to blame (or congratulate?) for this surge in LHHNY searches: Jen the Pen.

In case you're not familiar, she's a legend in the making. She's also a radio star waiting for her big break, and a White person. That last  point, is what's going to take her to the top.

Once Jen uttered the words “I'm white, honey I will get it done,” you could almost feel the mini-explosion in the Twitterverse.  Since she's been with a Black guy (The Cons) for five years, has a child with him, and is struggling with following his Islamic life rules, Jen can always use her current situation as proof that she's not racist. On the other hand, having a White person admit what you kinda think your White friends are thinking, is still an experience for the ages.

Next week Jen is going to get slandered to high hell thanks to Raqi's thirst for  screen time, but until then, let's look at 10 things we learned from last night's episode of Love & Hip Hop New York.

I disagree. I think she was just having fun and added spice to the interview.

He was acting too hard an unapproachable. I would have dreaded that meeting.

I wonder if Jen the Pen understand that her son is half Black and he will halve only half of the "White Privilege" that she has...Meaning - if you acknowledge that you have an edge in life because of your race, then you must acknowledge that a pure white kid will always be one step ahead of your lil half black kid. SMDH. Bird face. Bird brain.

      Duh

Also Jen... you don't really look all White to me....you look middle eastern, that nose is really Iranian or Lebanese or something, not white. Jen's skin is too tan to be just white so....you might not have as much privilege as you think you have....unless you surround yourself with a bunch of Blacks and Puerto Ricans who think your White. SMH.

Last I checked...people from the middle east are consider white in America...LMAO

I'm behind Jen here. Theres some serious double standards if its cool that Raqi can comment about how much benefit her whiteness is adding to the equation, but then when Jen says something, it's so wrong. Jen is a real n**** and I feel like her comment was made out of spite to Raqi's comments about her whiteness, not an actual superiority complex. Raqi is disrespectful. They were clearly asked to not flirt, so yeah when the first thing you do is that, I can understand how thats frustrating. Homeboy was dead serious like that sh*t is tacky. And so is Raqi.
