The church of Hip-Hop can always use more Yasiin Bey. The artist still known as the Mighty Mos Def drops “Black Jesus,” a collaboration with legendary Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh.

We’ve been hearing and watching evidence of Mannie and Bey’s musical union for a minute now, but the fruits of their labor is steadily starting to seep out. While performing in Phoenix, Bey premiered “Black Jesus” and another tuned called “Young Love.” On the former, the Boogie Man catches the holy rap spirit, dropping some bars but he flexes his singing chops more than his rhyme skills on this one.

Nevertheless, it still goes thanks to Mannie Fresh’s still knocking production thump that features tumbling drums and sweeping synth.

Mannie and Bey’s collaborative album will be called OMFGOD (or maybe OMFGODBKNOLA), and it can’t get here fast enough. However, we have to wait until Bey’s acting schedule slows down. Listen to “Black Jesus” below. Can we get Ghostface Killer on the remix to make the cipher complete, though?
