Former MTV reality show participant RiFF RaFF and his outlandish image leaves quite an impression, if nothing else. The Houston native recently visited Hot 97’s Morning Show and dropped one of his trademark off-the-dome freestyles. Program director Ebro wasn’t too impressed and engaged in a war of words with RiFF RaFF, which spilled over to Twitter yesterday.

RiFF RaFF has come a long way since his time on MTV’s G’s To Gents, appearing on ABC’s daytime soap opera One Life To Live and signing to Diplo’s Mad Decent label. However, Ebro was critical of the rapper and suggested RiFF RaFF’s image was mocking Black culture. Despite co-hosts Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds defending the freestyle and having fun with the moment, Ebro refused to let up.

“You’re a nice fellow [but] I’m not gonna dap you off for that freestyle,” said a visibly irritated Ebro. “There were a couple of pieces in there where I was like ‘Ok, there’s something here.’ There were a lot of other pieces in there I was like ‘What the f-ck is happening right now?’”

Amazingly, Jody Highroller kept it cool while sitting in the station’s studio but later delivered a passionate series of tweets aimed at the PD and the Morning Show staff.

“U CALLiNG ME FAKE BECUZ i ROCK ALOT OF EXPENSiVE JEWELRY iS LiKE ME CALLiNG U FAKE FOR WEARiNG A WHiTE BOY VANS HAT #HippoCrit,” tweeted RiFF RaFF to Ebro.

He added, “i AiNT GUNNA LiE i GOT THROWED OFF ON MY HOT 97 FREESTYLE CUZ THAT RACiST HATER WAS SiTTiNG NEXT TO ME WiTH A FOUL @SS ViBE BUT i STiLL WENT.”

A quick scan of Ebro’s Twitter timeline features nothing but chatter over the RiFF RaFF debacle and retweets from fans and detractors. It appears this issue won’t be going away anytime soon.
