There comes a time in every puppy’s life when they have to branch out and run with the big dogs.

Bow Wow a.k.a. Mr. 106 & Park a.k.a. Shad Moss had a recent epiphany and decided to wipe the slate clean for a fresh start. Which means, from this point on, it will be real name, no gimmicks for the forever celebrity.

In an all-caps headline “ANNOUNCEMENT,” Bo..er…Shad took to his Instagram to explain the decision.

“ANNOUNCEMENT: After BET awards (June 29) i will no longer go by Bow Wow!,” he said. “Im going by my real name ‘Shad Moss’ we made alot of history as bow wow. Now its time for the next chapter and challenge. Bow wow does not fit who i am today. Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over.”

Naturally, you can guess how well that went over with the general public who actually cared somewhat. For the unaware, that would be Black Twitter.

Moss released his first single in 1998 at the age of 11 so his uprooting the moniker would take much more than a quick social media announcement.

Which, is evidenced in full slanderous glory in the gallery below. No diss from Kermit The Frog references to his stalled rap career was spared. We hate it had to be Bow but it is what it is.

Peep the responses to the Bow Wow name change and prepare to laugh out loud.
