Rappers giving back to the community is always a sight for sore eyes and Snoop Dogg is always down to play optometrist.

The California rapper by way of Long Beach was recently spotted in his “second home” of Inglewood, helping pass out 1,500 turkeys to citizens alongside Mayor James Butts and other city officials. This year marks the sophomore edition of the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway after Snoop opened up his 1500 or Nothin’ studio and reached out to the mayor for suggestions on how to give back directly to the people.

“Snoop Dogg took pictures with over 800 people at the event,” Butts told NBC Los Angeles. “We had a tented area for seniors to sit in, and the first thing he did was go over to take pictures with everyone there.”

The event was held out the former headquarters of the Los Angeles Lakers, The Former and the people were more than appreciative of the generous act of holiday charity.

“This is a very big help for not only myself, but for about a thousand people,” Xiomara Payan told the news outlet.
