The troubling details surrounding the death of disabled Charlotte, N.C. man Keith Lamont Scott are still developing, and the protesters in the southern city are expressing varying levels of outrage. Tuesday evening, a clash between police officers and the protestors erupted and there are still demonstrations occurring this morning.

According to the Charlotte Observer, at least 16 police officers were injured along with an unreleased number of protesters in the melee last night. The publication adds that protesters also blocked a major interstate road and there were several reports of looting but the incidents were largely controlled by authorities.

Local outlet WSOC has been offering up to the minute updates about the situation in Charlotte, including posting a statement from Attorney General Loretta Lynch as she addressed both Scott and Tulsa man Terence Crutcher’s death. The publication adds that during a morning press conference, CMPD Chief Kerr Putney explained that the officer who gunned down Scott was not wearing a body camera.

A report on the Keith Lamont Scott protests from WSOC appears in the clip below. As new developments arise, we will update this post.
