Looks like Future will have to find another way to allegedly threaten Russell Wilson. Apple is getting rid of the controversial pistol emoji in iOS 10.

Twitter fingers will no longer be turning into trigger fingers as Apple is announcing that a watergun emoji will be taking the place of the pistol emoji that so many love to send online threats with.

CNN reports:

Bullets are out, water is in. Apple is replacing the controversial pistol emoji with a green water gun in the next version of its iPhone and iPad operating system, iOS 10.

The gun swap is just one of a number of emoji changes the company announced on Monday. It will also introduce new and revamped emojis that show women doing stereotypically male jobs like detective, construction worker, and police officer. There are new female athletes, a pride flag, and family options for single parents.

While it seemed harmless at first, the pistol emoji has turned into a symbol for violence. Ciara once alleged that Future was threatening her husband, NFL football player Russell Wilson when he posted a caption with gun emojis pointed towards football emojis.

There was also the time a 12-year-old Virginia girl was charged with threatening her school in an Instagram post that used a gun, knife and bomb emoji. Then there was that time when cops arrested a Brooklyn teenager for posting gun emoji towards a police emoji’s head.

Have fun with your fake guns while you can, the pistol emoji will be no more this fall.
