VH1’s annual celebration of accolades in Hip-Hop is back for its sixth year. The 2009 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors will be take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York. Viewers of the program will receive comedic relief from the host; funny-man Tracey Morgan and his cast of presenters, Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, and Brett Ratner. The show will also feature a star-studded lineup of artists including Eminem, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Fabolous, Ludacris, DMX, Mary J. Blige, Redman, The Roots, Method Man, ONYX, Public Enemy, Warren G, Kid Rock, Trey Songz, Ja Rule, Gym Class Heroes, and Scarface.

On the 2009 edition of the program, the celebrity cast will pay tribute to Hip-Hop power label Def Jam Records, highlighting the powerhouse’s execs including Russell Simmons, Jay-Z, L.A. Reid, Rick Rubin, Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen and Julie Greenwald. The show will feature never before seen interviews, live performances and archival footage from Def Jam’s vault. The 2009 VH1 Hip-Hop Honors airs October 13 at 9 p.m. EST.
