BET personality Jeff Johnson is on a mission to inspire with his new book “Everything I’m Not Made Me Everything I Am: Discovering Your Personal Best.”

In the book Johnson discusses “best practices” to help you achieve your “personal best” in every aspect of your life. The author claims he was able to achieve his personal best by overcoming personal and professional obstacles, real life experiences and lessons learned from mentors.

For Jeff Johnson those experiences and successes include being an award-winning journalist, Tom Joyner Morning Show commentator, BET broadcast personality, and motivational speaker that many young people look up to.

Fresh from filming an independent documentary in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Johnson is scheduled to host a BET Town Hall Meeting on Health Care Reform that will be held in conjunction with the Congressional Black Caucus annual legislative weekend on September 22.

This book is expected to be consistent with the same straightforward style Johnson is known for whether he’s speaking on voting or violence. “Everything I’m Not Made Me Everything I Am: Discovering Your Personal Best” promises to offer “relevant examples and realistic help” for those of all ages who are pursuing their personal best.

The title is inspired by Kanye West’s song “Everything I Am” and the rapper himself penned the foreword of Johnson’s book. Kanye wrote:

“An A to Z on how to be fulfilled…Jeff’s words and thoughts are real in a world filled with fakers. Everything I’m Not is guaranteed to inspire, empower, and help…”

Kevin Liles, former Executive Vice President, Warner Music Group also spoke about the book saying,

“Jeff not only lays out the road map, he also helps you visualize where you’re going…An amazing tool…Jeff’s insights are invaluable.”
