The Artists Of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group
Hip-Hop was shaken up when news broke that Rick Ross was unconscious after suffering a seizure on an airplane Friday afternoon.
Luckily, Ricky Rozay pulled through and is in stable condition.
It’s hard work being one of the top rappers in the game, and it’s even harder work being the CEO of your own company.
Since signing a multi-million dollar deal with Warner Bros. for his Maybach Music Group imprint, Ross’ record label has gone from a small Miami based record label to one of the fastest growing labels in music.
Over the past 12-months, Ross has been signing more talent than New York Yankees in the offseason.
Just in case you’ve had trouble keeping up, here are the artists of Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group Empire.
Meek Mill
Representin’: Philadelphia, PA
Signed In: 2011
After signing with Ross in February, Meek Mill has released two Rick Ross-assisted hit records “Tupac Back” and “Ima Boss,” and is going on a third smash with his new single “House Party” featuring Young Chris starting to pick up.
Wale
Representin’: Washington, D.C.
Signed In: 2011
Wale Folarin’s 2009 debut album Attention Deficit flopped on Interscope. The D.C. rapper is looking for a major turnaround when his sophomore album Ambition drops on MMG/Warner Bros. on November 1st.
Pill
Representin’: Atlanta, GA
Signed In: 2011
Pill’s started buzzing in 2009 after releasing a series of mixtapes throughout the streets of Atlanta. The ATL rapper hopes signing with the biggest Boss will give him the backing he needs to take his music to the next level.
Stalley
Representin’: Massillon, Ohio
Signed In: 2011
Stalley’s Lincoln Way Nights (Intelligent Trunk Music) project impressed Ross enough to make the young Ohio rapper Ross’ fourth MC signee this year.
Teedra Moses
Representin’: New Orleans, LA
Signed In: 2011
Her debut album was released on TVT in 2004 to little mainstream success. Maybe under Ross the Lioness will get the push she deserves.
DJ Scream
Representin’: Atlanta, GA
Signed In: 2011
Atlanta’s DJ Scream signed the MMG dotted line this summer and takes his position as the MMG DJ/artist to Grand Hustle’s DJ Drama or YMCMB’s DJ Khaled.
Audra The Rapper
Representin’: Richmond, VA
Signed In: 2010
We haven’t heard much from Virginia’s First Lady, Audra The Rapper. Since signing with Ross in 2010, she’s been waiting for her chance to be unleashed to the masses.
Magazeen
Representin’: Kingston, Jamacia
Signed In: 2009
Magazeen is the lone dancehall artist signed to the Maybach Music Empire.
Masspike Miles
Representin’: Boston, MA
Signed In: 2009
Signed in 2009, Masspike Miles was singing on Rozay’s hooks long before the Warner Bros. deal.
Triple C’s
Representin’: Miami, FL
Signed In: 2009
Down with Ross since day one, Gunplay, Torch (and later Young Bleed), released the Triple C’s album Custom Cars & Cycles on Maybach Music/Def Jam in 2009.
